The Department of English Language and Literature aims to cultivate in students a high-level English proficiency, global awareness, problem solving skills, and open mindedness. The department offers an array of courses, such as English Linguistics, English and American Literature and Culture, English Education, and English-Korean and Korean-English Translation and Interpretation, to provide students the knowledge and skills to have a professional career in an English language-related field. The department provides a curriculum that promotes students’ academic excellence in these areas on the basis of their knowledge in liberal arts disciplines.
